TMCCP Webinar - Behind the Bar: State Alcohol Regulations with TABC
Monday, March 30, 2026, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM CDT
Category: TMCCP Webinar
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission’s presentation on license and permit certification will provide guidance to municipal clerks on TABC’s Alcohol Industry Management System (AIMS), county/city statutory authorities, certifying applications, local fees, and delinquent payments. Three municipal officials from city secretary offices in Texas will also provide information on how to implement legislation at the local level that regulates the alcoholic beverage industry in Texas. These individuals will share best practices and allow time for Q&A to make sure you are ready to fulfill your duties in this area. About the Speakers: Shawn Smith began his journey with TABC in the Wichita Falls office in March 2009 and will now represent the Agency, and the Licensing Division, to fifty-one counties in Northeast Texas. Before working for the great state of Texas, Shawn served as a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. As a Yeoman in the Navy, he was stationed in New York City and San Diego, as well as abroad in the United Kingdom, Italy, and Japan. In his time away from TABC he enjoys researching family genealogy and finding links to the past – he has traced one branch of his family tree and found his 6X great-grandmother was the aunt of American Pioneer Daniel Boone.
