The training emphasizes real-world scenarios, collaborative discussion, and actionable approaches that municipal leaders can apply immediately to build trust, credibility, and long-term partnerships with state officials.

The program will feature perspectives from a diverse group of experienced speakers, including:

Representative Todd Hunter, Texas House of Representatives, District 32

Shelley Goodwin, City Secretary, City of Rockport

Nathan Anderson, Chief of Police, City of Rockport

JJ Rocha, Director of Public Policy and Engagement, Texas Municipal League

Professor Dr. Juan Carlos Huerta, Texas A&M at Corpus Christi.

Together, they will provide a well-rounded view of legislative expectations, municipal operations, policy engagement, and intergovernmental relations, creating a valuable forum for learning, dialogue, and relationship-building among attendees.
