Typically offered at our in-person Election Law seminar, we are moving this session to a webinar for 2024.  This webinar will cover the procedures and requirements for holding charter amendment elections.

About the Speakers: 
Myrna Rios is the City Clerk with the City of Austin. Appointed in December of 2021, she is responsible for providing council support and overseeing municipal elections, boards and commissions management, campaign finance, records retention, personnel management, budget, and contract management. Myrna began her career with the City of Austin as Executive Secretary in the City Manager’s Office. Prior to joining the Office of the City Clerk, she worked as the Council Agenda Manager. She has worked for the City of Austin for 22 years in various capacities.

Myrna received her undergraduate degree from Texas State University in San Marcos and a master’s degree from St. Edward’s University in Austin. She earned her Texas Registered Municipal Clerk designation in 2016 and obtains the designation of Master Municipal Clerk by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks; and is a Fellow of the Athenian Leadership Society. She is an active member of the Capital Chapter for the Texas Municipal Clerk’s Association; and serves as a committee member on two IIMC Committees

Erika Brady is the Deputy City Clerk with the Office of the City Clerk for the City of Austin. She oversees the technical operations, financial services, and administrative support for the department. She has worked for the City of Austin for over 9 years. Erika received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas – go Bobcats! In 2018, she earned her Texas Registered Municipal Clerk designation and is scheduled to obtain her recertification in 2024. She has also served on the Nominating Committee for the Texas Municipal Clerk’s Association. In 2019, she obtained her Certified Municipal Clerk designation and recently received her Master Municipal Clerk designation by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. She is active in the local Capital Chapter and has served on various committees.
