Advanced Professional Development Scholarship Program
Scholarship Committee will consider all applications, deliberate on the factors of eligibility, and designate the scholarship awards for all of one calendar year. The actual presentation of the awards will occur at the Annual TMCA Awards Banquet, held in conjunction with the TMCCP Advanced Institute. Scholarship winners will be notified that they have received a scholarship.
The deadline for annual scholarship applications is June 15, 2025
The recipient(s) will be notified by August 15, 2025
Purpose of Scholarship
The scholarship program supports members who are pursuing TMCCP re-certification and are continuing their education through advanced training. The scholarship application must include a letter from the applicant outlining how the scholarship will impact their professional development. Funds may be used to cover expenses related to the following training programs.
- Public Funds Investment Training provided by the State of Texas
- International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC)
- Certified Public Manager Program (CPM)
- William “King” Cole Leadership Training
- Texas Municipal Court Clerk Training
- Registered Parliamentarian Training
- Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional Training
Scholarship Administration
The Chair of the Scholarship Committee must receive all scholarship applications by June 1, 2025
The TMCA, Inc., treasurer disburses scholarship funds to the recipient(s) on a cost-reimbursement basis not to exceed the amount(s) awarded. The recipient(s) shall be reimbursed for qualifying expenses incurred between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31 of the year following the award of scholarship.
The recipient must submit the Request for Reimbursement Form along with a copy of receipt(s) to receive payment for reimbursable expenses.
Eligible Applicants
- Applicant must be a TMCA member in good standing
- Applicant must be enrolled in the Recertification Program.
- Applicant must hold the TRMC Designation and have completed at least two recertification cycles
- Application must include a letter of commitment from the applicant outlining how the scholarship will impact their professional development.
